May
1, 2006
Spring is going by fast this year. Really fast. Disconcertingly
fast. But the upside is, my massive seasonal allergies will soon
abate--I hope--and I’m turning in lots of new projects for next
year. Amazon just put up
a
pre-order link for my next women’s fiction book, NEAERLYWEDS
(November 2006), which is a big, juicy, holiday romp with lots
of marital drama, in-law drama, and dog drama. Probably my
favorite book yet! If you’ve ever spent a family Thanksgiving
dodging passive-aggressive verbal bullets while drowning your
sorrows in wine and chocolate cake and then accidentally burning
the turkey, this is the book for you. (Not that *I* have ever
done any of that. Nooo…)
If you need something to tide you over until fall, BenBella
Books just released
“Welcome to Wisteria Lane”,
an essay anthology on “Desperate Housewives.” My essay, titled
“Growing Up Wisteria,” is a tongue-in-cheek look at the children
of the main characters; I predict what kind of adults these
children are likely to be based on their mothers’ parenting
style. See? I KNEW that psych degree would come in handy
someday!
Oh! And thanks to everyone who’s emailed me about my new book
for teens, “Life As a Poser” (if you haven’t read it yet, you
can enter to win a copy on my contest page). It’s the first in
“The 310” series for MTV Books, and I’m thrilled to announce
that one lucky reader will get the chance to “appear” in the
third 310 book (tentatively scheduled for March 2007). Yes, you
can win a cameo alongside main characters Eva, Jacinda and
Coelle. Fun!
Go over to my sister website and enter today.
And if you haven’t gotten carpal-tunnel after all that
contest-entering, please, please, I beg of you,
click over to MySpace and befriend me. I just signed up (what can I say? I
fear technology) and I have nobody. Flashbacks to the cafeteria
in middle school.
Now stop monkeying around on the Internet and go outside and
play. Don’t forget your Claritin.
xoxo,
Beth
