December 9, 2004
So. It’s been quite awhile since my last update. Weeks and weeks
and weeks, actually.
But I have a very good excuse: I’m a slacker. Okay? I admit it.
Now stop with your labels and your judgment! Slackers are
people, too!
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way...
Happy holidays! I assume that by this point, you are all
stressed, sick with the flu, and broke.
Ah, ‘tis the season!
But we shouldn’t let all the long lines and commercial claptrap
obscure the most important part of the holidays: the opportunity
to turn on your car radio and be treated to the dulcet tones of
the Wham! Christmas song (aka “Last Christmas.”)
The sad part is, I’m totally serious. I know it’s cheesy and you
music purists are probably in physical pain just thinking about
it, but I
that song. George Michael is just so darn poignant and earnest.
Sigh..
And in other, non-retro-tennybopper-musical-acts news, if you’d
like to read a new interview I did with Brooke Willis, please
click on this link:
http://www.romancejunkies.com/artman
/publish/article_2547.shtml
It includes the true and embarrassing story of how I found out I
was going to be a published author and my sordid confession of
culinary incompetence. Enjoy!
Here’s to a healthy and happy 2005,
Beth
P.S.
IN ONE YEAR AND OUT THE OTHER is waiting on the shelf at a
bookstore near you, calling your name and whimpering softly (not
unlike George Michael in “Last Christmas”.) Won’t you give a
lonely paperback a happy home this winter?
