Hey, did you hear all the fireworks and rioting in the streets last night? That was because I finally finished my newest manuscript and sent it off to my editor in New York. Today is a national holiday! (When I say "national", I am of course using the term in the sense of "in my house only.")

Now I can get back to my new full-time occupation: watching the first three seasons of Alias on DVD and trying to convince myself that really, after five hours of sitting on the couch staring slack-jawed at the TV, I really should go write. Or cook a meal. Or take the dogs to the dog park. Or something. Anything. But no, I remain rooted to the sofa because I have to know what’s going to happen next. It’s a great series, I tell you, and that Sydney Bristow means business. Next time you have about 18 consecutive hours of free time, you should rent a season’s worth of shows and check it out.

Now for the real news: I have posted covers for my upcoming releases in the "Bookshelf" section. IN ONE YEAR AND OUT THE OTHER is a short story anthology that will be out in December (no, I didn’t get my name on the cover but my story, "The Bad Breakup Regime" is the first one in the collection! Woo hoo!) EXES AND OHS is my second novel, and will be published in April 2005. You can check out an excerpt from the first chapter here.

Well. I thought it was cute. Whatever. I don’t have to sit here and take this abuse. I’m going to go back to the couch and spend some quality time with the people who really love me: Sydney Bristow and Michael Vaughn.
