So I finally got my act together and
started up a Facebook fan page, which you may visit
by
clicking here.
Yes, I know I’m about 5 years late
on this one, but listen, I just learned how to text
with my cell phone 6 months ago. Baby steps, you guys.
Baby steps.
(True story: I called my mom and proudly
announced that I had joined the ranks of the cyber-savvy
and this was her response: “Facebook? Isn’t that where
people get cyber bullied and killed?” I suspect my Luddite
tendencies may be hereditary.)
Oh, and I have a new book coming out!
SECOND TIME AROUND
will hit bookshelves nationwide in April, 2010 and you
can pre-order today by
clicking here.
I really love this book. I know I
say that every time I have a new release, but this one
will forever hold a special place in my heart because
it is “the English major book.” (Bookworms represent!)
Here’s the teaser from the back cover:
Thanks to an unexpected inheritance,
four college friends get an opportunity to start over
and pursue their dream jobs. But the road not taken
has a few speed bumps…
Every summer, a group of former
English majors hold a mini-reunion. They laugh, reminisce,
and commiserate about their soul-sucking jobs. Maybe
they should have listened to everyone who warned them
to study something “practical.”
Then an unexpected windfall arrives—one
million dollars, to be exact—with the stipulation that
they use it to jump-start their new careers. Almost
overnight, a professor, a bartender, a copywriter, and
an administrative assistant reinvent themselves as a
bed-and-breakfast owner, a pastry chef, a novelist,
and an event planner. But the changes in their professional
roles create unexpected turbulence in their personal
lives, and soon the secrets and scandals from their
past resurface.
For anyone who has ever wondered
“What if?”, this engaging novel provides a sweet, funny
look at friendship, romance, and second chances.
If you are an English major, know
any English majors, or have ever sat through a survey
course on Shakespeare and wondered how the hell you
were going to manage to pass the final, this is the
book for you. It’s got everything: romance, scandal,
juicy secrets, steamy make-out sessions in the library…oops,
I’ve said too much. Anyway, you can get a sneak peek
at the first chapter here.
Happy reading, and I’ll see you on
Facebook (assuming I haven’t been cyber-bullied unto
madness).
Beth
